Field Trips
April 7 - Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Visitor Center at the Mason County Airport on US 10. We will carpool to Victory Township Park and also visit the Morman's old Christmas tree farm. The focus will be on waterfowl and early migrant songbirds.
May 19 - Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Warming Shelter at Ludington State Park(north of the entrance booth). The focus will be migrant songbirds, though there may be also waterbird movement on Lake Michigan.
August 11 - Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Ludington Waste Water Treatment Plant on East 6th Street(east of the Pere Marquette Highway). The focus will be shorebirds and marsh birds. We will also travel to the PM marsh, Sutton's Landing, and the Ludington Harbor(south breakwater).
September 15 - Meet at 8:30 a.m. at Riverside Park along the Pere Marquette River on the south side of Scottville(east of Scottville Road). The focus will be migrant songbirds in riparian and swamp habitats. We will also go birding across the road to the west, where the boat launch area occurs.
October 27 - Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Warming Shelter at Ludington State Park(north of the entrance booth). The focus will be on waterfowl, such as Long-tailed Ducks and scoters that are migrating over Lake Michigan, as well as migrating Snow Buntings, Tree Sparrows, etc.
NOTE: All trips are intended to conclude by noon. Join us for all or part of the morning. We may eat lunch at a nearby restaurant. Field trips will not be canceled due to inclement weather.

Unless indicated by an asterisk all meetings are at 7:00 p.m. at the Friendship Center at Rush and Park Streets in Pentwater, except where otherwise noted.
Meetings begin with a “social” one-half hour, and then a program, followed by a short business meeting.
Visitors are always welcome.
